True surround needs a surround system — a TV, home theater or surround earphones. On a normal phone the channels are mixed into stereo: left channels play left, right channels right, so you can still check every signal. 5.1 uses the first six channels; 7.1 adds the two side channels.

Will it damage my speaker?

No. The tones are inside the range phone speakers are built for, and the volume rises slowly. If any sound ever feels too harsh, press STOP — it stops at once.

How many times should I run it?

Run it once, then test with music. For water, 2–3 cycles are normal. Please do not run more than 3 cycles back-to-back — let the speaker rest a few minutes.
